THAI MASSAGE

Origins & Tradition

Thai Massage is rooted in ancient Thai healing traditions influenced by Buddhism, yoga, and Ayurvedic medicine. Historically, it was practised in temples as a form of compassionate, mindful touch. The focus is on creating space in the body – literally and energetically – through stretching, joint mobilisation, and rhythmic pressure along energy lines.

My Journey

I was drawn to Thai Massage because I’ve always believed movement is deeply connected to emotional and psychological wellbeing. Thai Massage showed me how the body can be guided into openness without force – using breath, rhythm, and mindful contact instead.
Through my training, I learned not only the physical techniques but the philosophy behind them: working slowly, listening to the body, and offering touch with presence and intention. Thai Massage allows me to support clients who benefit from a more active, movement-based approach to release and relaxation.

The Experience

Thai Massage is performed fully clothed on a mat on the floor. I use my hands, thumbs, elbows, and sometimes body weight to apply gentle pressure, combined with stretches that help open the hips, back, legs, and shoulders. The treatment feels both grounding and energising. Many people describe it as a guided journey through movement – one where the body gradually unwinds while the mind becomes quieter. The rhythmic nature of the massage helps the nervous system settle, encouraging a feeling of calm focus.
